When you live in the center of a European city (Oslo in our case), space is a luxury most people can’t afford. When I first discovered that we were expecting a baby I started hunting for something roomier than our little shoebox. Well, turns out there were no contenders that could beat the price and location of our 50 m2, cozy nest. Needless to say, we decided to stay. But we are keeping our eyeballs pealed for something a little more spacious. Our decision to camp here a little while longer presented us with a new challenge: designating a portion of the living room into a baby room without compromising the style of the room as a whole. Unfortunately, to my husband’s dismay, the library had to go in order to attain the goal. This area turned out to be the perfect nook! To keep within the style of the room, I avoided some popular baby trends (e.g. plastering Winnie the Poo to the wall, low-hanging plastic thingies over the crib). I love natural elements because they give the baby room more of an organic feel. I hope that Nova will dig it, too.
